The demand in Spain for qualified employees with experience in online marketing, web design and e-commerce is growing up to 25% per year until 2020, according to the Spanish newspaper El Mundo.
In 2015, 85000 job offers related to new digital positions were left vacant. At the same time, 4.7 million people are unemployed in Spain. Oxford university forecast that 50% of the traditional job positions will cease to exist by the year 2025. They will be substituted by positions that will need digital competences: content manager, community manager, data analyst, etc.
To face these challenges, universities feel obliged to adapt their courses to the new circumstances of an ever-changing market. Companies will have to make a large effort to give additional training about digital environments or to hire new employees with a digital profile.
